Members are encouraged to bring guests to all of our functions. We like to share our good times and, perhaps, they will want to become one of us!
Call Rosemary Rebello at 541-997-6167 by the Friday before our Tuesday monthly chapter meeting date and be at the restaurant by 5:00 PM.
We would love to have you attend. A great way to interact with the membership!
Most of us do not dead head rhododendrons that reach that height - at least on the top of the plant. If you really want to dead head the plant, then using a large sturdy three-legged orchard ladder is probably your best choice.
If you are using a Mac, go to Safari>Preferences>General>Home page and type or paste in the following URL,

The chapter has many, but several come to mind. The chapter has a number of members who have owned or currently own rhododendron nurseries. Mike and Kathy Bones own Bones Nursery north of Florence on Hwy 101 and Dave and Jan Shepherd own Shepherds Gardens south of Florence on Hwy 101. Jim and Sylvia Smith and Galen and Helen Baxter are each retired rhody nursery owners with years of experience and knowledge. The Baxter's are also leaders in the Eugene ARS Chapter. Gene Cockeram is well known for his rhododendron know-how and flower display expertise. He also has a private garden that is the envy of many chapter members. Bob MacIntyre is currently our District 4 Director and is a leader in the Southwestern Oregon ARS Chapter. Bob is also a member of our chapter. He is quite knowledgeable on rhododendrons. Two individuals that are often overlooked are Dan Bones and Larry Jensen.
A good number of these individuals come to the pre-chapter meeting dinners. You might attempt to sit next to one and introduce yourself! Above all, feel free to introduce yourself at any chapter meeting. Gene Cockeram is also quite accessible at our monthly morning chapter work party on the third Wednesday of the month at Gallagher's Park. Of course, check out the links on this web site.
